I used to think the world was my biggest obstacle the expectations, the comparisons, the opinions. But it was me. I was the one holding myself back. The one second-guessing, dimming, and apologizing for existing too loudly.
I’ve spent too much time comparing my journey to others, wondering if I’m too far behind or too far gone. But I’ve learned that comparison is a distraction it keeps me from seeing the beauty in my own process. My pace, my lessons, my path are mine for a reason. No one else could walk them the way I do.
I’m learning to take up space, to speak without fear, to show up without shrinking, to trust that I belong wherever I stand. Taking up space doesn’t mean being better than anyone else. It means finally letting myself be.
The opinions of others no longer weigh me down the way they used to. People will always have something to say whether I stay quiet or speak up. So I might as well speak. I might as well live.
Overcoming me isn’t about changing who I am. It’s about unlearning the need to be smaller. It’s about letting the real me breathe, take root, and take space.
