The Importance of Health

Something that’s been on my heart for a while is the importance of taking care of our health.

I lost my mother to cancer, and the only vivid memory I have of her is centered around her diet, she often ate sweet treats like cakes and cookies and drank soda daily.

Having a sweet treat every now and then doesn’t hurt, but making it a daily habit can have long-term consequences. In my mother’s case, it contributed to a devastating outcome: cancer.

When your body is constantly processing heavily refined and sugary foods, it doesn’t get the chance to rest, recover, or heal. The human body is beautifully designed to heal itself, if it’s given the right conditions. That includes what we eat and how we manage stress.

And let’s be honest—life today is extremely stressful. The news is overwhelming, and many of us are constantly showing up for others while running on empty.

As an American, I’ve seen firsthand how broken our healthcare system is. It doesn’t prioritize prevention or long-term healing, with or without insurance. Meanwhile, the system pushes processed, convenient foods because we’re working overtime or juggling multiple jobs just to survive.

This month, I want to share how I personally try to take care of my health. I’m not perfect, and like many Americans, I don’t have amazing health coverage, though I’m grateful for what I do have.

We’ll talk about:

Why daily movement is crucial.

The power of herbal remedies.

How pharmaceuticals often mask symptoms rather than heal the root cause.

Managing the “new normal” diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, that silently affect so many of us.

These illnesses are connected, and understanding how our organs and symptoms interact is the first step toward healing.

For me, it’s been a journey with diabetes. And I’ve learned that true change happens when we begin healing one organ at a time. Only then can we begin to feel like ourselves again—more energized, more alive.

I hope you stick around this month to learn, share, and grow together. Because collectively, we can become the change our health so desperately needs.
