Health is Wealth

Your number one priority in life should be taking care yourself, in all aspects mentally, physically and spiritually. When either of those things are out of wack, it feels like your whole life is falling apart.

To mentally take care of yourself,

  • Do not take on more than you can. That could be at work taking on more projects than you can handle. Always being there for friends and family emotionally and financially when it is not feasible for you to do so.
  • Make time for your self-care, whether that be reading a book, a spa day or as simple as taking a nap.

Taking care of yourself physically is very important, if you are not feeling physically well literally everything will fall apart. For example I used to walk over ten miles everyday, since the pandemic started that number drastically dropped to at least 1.5 miles a day to practically none. And my health drastically paid the price.

  • Be sure to be active everyday, even if its a 20 min walk around your neighborhood.
  • Get a physical exam every year, just to be sure your health is on the right track.
  • Eat better; for me it was as easy as cutting out postdates. I’m notorious for ordering lunches and dinners. Once I stopped that for about a week I instantly felt better and wanted to continue eating better.

Lastly, your spiritual health. Don’t forget your creator God, be sure to have a daily relationship with him. There was a point in my life where everything could have gone completely wrong for me, and if it wasn’t for a particular person in my life who introduced me to God I don’t know what would have happened. so keep a relationship with him.

  • Pray daily, when things are going good or if you are completely lost and confused.
  • Read the Bible as often as you can. This is something that I am trying to work on, but getting better. Buy reading the Bible it gives me answers on how I should conduct my life and guidance on what I can do that is currently confusing me.
  • If you can go to church, if not find a podcast or online service you can attend. This definitely calms my spirit.

Making sure we take care of ourselves ensures that we can be there to help those we love when needed. Remember you can’t pour from a empty cup
