A few factors came into play when deciding to create this post.
- the presidential election
- Black Panther
- my decision to change course in my life and become a women in technology and business.
The presidential election…what a show that first debate was. I felt like I was watching reality tv. But the reality is this is my reality, pray for us. Biden/Harris, say what you want but in order for us to move forward as a country we have to make right decision. Also the first female VP hell yeah!!! That should be reason enough. I don’t want to get political because then this post will never end, I just want to touch on why representation matters. Growing up I never though of politics being a place where women can flourish, but look Kamala Harris and RBG, and countless others. The efforts they put to get to where they are is inspirational.
Black Panther, RIP. My focus is on Shuri after all if that movie would have come out when I was a kid, she would have been my full inspiration. As someone who would like to venture out into the technology world one day(hopefully very soon), she is my idol. She created that female role model in STEM that is relatable to me, and made it cool.
Women in Technology and Business, now to combine the two it has really inspired me to think about the woman I would love to be and be able to inspire the younger generations. Some one that they can see doing what they would love to do one day. What better way than to be a POC in both the technology and business atmosphere. I think about all the things I can potentially do once I step out in faith, and one day it will be mine. I hope to one of those powerful women one day.
