Every Time I Choose, I Got It

I used to wait.

Wait to be picked.
Wait to be seen.
Wait to be validated in ways that felt like permission to exist fully.

I was a “choose me” kind of person.
The kind that made herself smaller, softer, easier to accept.
The kind that performed worth instead of knowing it.

Because somewhere along the way, I learned that being chosen meant being valuable.
That if someone saw me, wanted me, stayed with me—then maybe I was enough.

But waiting to be chosen is a quiet kind of abandonment.
The kind you do to yourself while hoping someone else will rescue you from it.

And one day, I got tired.

Tired of auditioning for spaces I already belonged in.
Tired of over-explaining myself to people who never planned to understand me.
Tired of shrinking just to fit inside someone else’s version of “enough.”

So I made a choice.

I chose me.

Not in a loud, performative way.
Not in a “look at me now” kind of way.
But in a quiet, sacred shift.

The kind where you stop asking, “Do they want me?”
And start asking, “Do I want this?”

The kind where your standards rise, not out of ego, but out of self-respect.
Where your presence becomes intentional, not desperate.
Where your love is no longer something you beg to give—but something you offer with discernment.

Every time I choose myself, something aligns.

Opportunities feel clearer.
People show up differently.
My energy stops leaking into places that were never meant to hold me.

Because choosing yourself isn’t about isolation.
It’s about alignment.

It’s about understanding that the life meant for you will never require you to beg for entry.
That the right people won’t need convincing.
That what’s truly yours will recognize you the moment you stop trying to be everything for everyone.

I used to think being chosen was the prize.

Now I understand—
the real power is in choosing.

Choosing peace over potential.
Choosing clarity over confusion.
Choosing yourself, even when it feels unfamiliar, even when it feels lonely, even when it feels like you’re walking away from everything you once thought you wanted.

Because every time I choose me, I don’t lose.

I land.

I become.

I arrive.

And every time I choose, I got it.
