I asked God for certain things,
Not seeing how He answered, with wings.
My life, a battle with shallow calls,
Trying to knock me from my walls.
I begged for more, for what I sought,
And He, in grace, gave all I thought.
He never failed, though I may have,
My mind betrayed, lost in its craft.
Through every trial, each twist and turn,
He provided, though I failed to discern.
For in His hands, my hopes would rest,
Even when I doubted what was best.
