Why can’t I ever envision a future me?
Caught in the moment,
Lost in the fight,
Surviving the day, just to reach the night.
Living on tactics,
One step at a time,
Focusing only on what is mine.
The future’s a shadow,
Too far to touch,
I never thought of it—
Never thought that much.
Just trying to make it,
Just trying to breathe,
The future a question
I’ve yet to believe.
