I don’t think anyone or anything can prepare you for life after college. It’s a whole new world out here(where’s genie when you need him), and it’s weird. Trying to find the work – life balance or just trying to find work!! Figuring out your own schedule what is this. It’s even more confusing as a first generation college grad.
Parents will expect you to secure a job right out of college in your major, but its extremely hard in this job market. Some grads do accomplish that fairytale but not all. Plus it’s even harder when you feel like you should be doing something bigger and better than the major you picked when you were 18/19 years old, I don’t even like this anymore(stress). And again this is for some not everyone, you probably liked what you majored in. Unlike me who jumps onto the next thing that I love. If you’re like me sit down and reassess your goals and work towards something new.
Sometimes all it takes is accomplishing new goals. You did the damn thing in college, congrats!! Let’s do it again with a new goal, whether it be a job, business venture, traveling the world, getting another degree or a whole new outlook on life. Just remember we can do this!!
